The Saga of Plant Donald

One of the big reasons that I and I believe many others love Disney is for their attention to detail in every experience they provide. When I am waiting in line for a ride I appreciate the fact that the queue is themed to the ride and not just an endless line of metal bars that make you go back and forth. It is this attention to detail that sets Disney apart from other theme parks. Now when it comes to the less popular attractions Disney may skimp and try to save some money in certain places because after all they are a business. Very recently the company may have made one of the most cheap moves in Walt Disney Company history. When you ride the Gran Fiesta Tour you expect to see The Three Caballeros at the end of the ride singing their song. You see, Panchito Pistoles, Jose Carioca, and the man himself... uhhhh Donald Duck? So, Donald apparently needed a break from the stardom life and didn't have the time to preform with his two amigos and Disney thought that they could replace Donald with a plant?!?! A plant Disney? I mean come on, this may be the most ridiculous thing that has hit an attraction. Just take a look at old plant Donald here, thanks to the folks at AllEars.net for the picture.

I applaud the effort Disney I really do. You could of forked over the money, that most likely equaled the cost of 20 park tickets for the day, to just have a replacement on deck. But no, you had to go disturb the nice people at Living With The Land and ask what plant they had that most looked like a duck.

Anyways, the plant has since been removed and just nothing took it's place. Until... yes we got the solution now, cardboard cutouts of the beloved characters have taken stage!

The Gran Fiesta Tour is obviously on a downfall unfortunately. Do you think Coco could be coming in to take its place? Anything else perhaps? Only time will tell for what may come of this once great ride.
